Cindy Harris Bio

Cindy Harris grew up in the home in which she and her husband now reside. The home her father built for her family in 1978 and designed for her mother. She attended Warner Christian Academy through the 10th Grade and then graduated from New Smyrna High School. After high school, Cindy worked her way up into management roles in every endeavor she sought. She gained skills in valuable areas such as human resources, accounting, recruiting, technical writing, paralegal, and investigative research. These fields of experience are valuable in the position she seeks for the County Council.

As a self-employed, State of Florida life and health insurance agent with over 20 years, Cindy built her career by helping families navigate complex systems to make informed choices about their futures. Now semi-retired, Cindy has devoted much of her time to advocating for residents impacted by flooding; an issue that has affected many communities in Volusia County. Through her grassroots efforts, she has become a voice for those facing challenges with recovery, relief, and fair treatment.

Cindy’s deep roots in Volusia County and in District 3 give her a strong understanding of the unique concerns and values of its residents. She brings a practical, service-oriented perspective to local government, informed by decades of working directly with people, not politics. She believes that everyday citizens need a voice in decisions affecting their lives, homes, and neighborhoods. Cindy believes in transparent government and standing up for the needs of her community.
